Eagles Invite

This weekend, our swimmers and divers competed in both the Wheeler Dive Meet and the Eagles Invite.  Huge congratulations to Erika Delker for placing 7th in the dive meet!  Erika is well on her way to qualifying for state in dive!  In the Eagles Invite, our girls placed 5th, our boys 7th — overall, AHS Swim and Dive placed 7th!  Go BUCS!  A huge congratulations to TRAVIS DELKER for qualifying for STATE in the 500 Free!!!

Spartan Sprints

This Saturday, our swimmers and divers competed in the Spartan Sprints!  The girls placed 3rd overall, the boys 6th overall.  Our team did a great job — tying for 4th place!!!  Coach Downey and I are very proud of our swimmers and divers for their hard work, dedication, and amazing efforts.   Our divers, Sarah Duncan and Erika Delker placed 1st and 2nd in the women’s dive competition!  Great job BUCS!!!

Cobb Time Trials & Cobb Relays

This Friday and Saturday, our swimmers competed against almost 2 dozen teams from across Cobb County and Paulding County in the Cobb Time Trials and Cobb Relays.  The efforts by our swimmers were amazing!  We added to the previous meet’s swimmers with County Qualifying times AND had individual and relay STATE Qualifying times!!!  The Allatoona Swim & Dive Team placed 13th overall, with the girls tying for 9th place!!

Huge congratulations go out to the following swimmers for County Qualifying times:  Travis Delker, Katie Heilman, Caitlyn McHugh, Allison Nettles, Julia Nichols, and Jackson vander Werf!!!  

Travis qualified in the 200 Free (adding to last meet’s county qualifiers);

Katie qualified in the 50 Free and 200 IM;

Caitlyn qualified in the 200 Free and 100 YD Butterfly;

Allison qualified in the 100 YD Butterfly and 100 YD Breast Stroke (adding to last meet’s county qualifiers);

Julia qualified in the 100 Back (dropping over 2 seconds from last week!);

Jackson qualified in the 50 Free (dropping exactly one second from last week!)


A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS goes out to CAITLYN MCHUGH for her individual STATE QUALIFIERS in the 200 FREE and 100 YD Butterfly!!!!

Another HUGE Congratulations goes out to Morgan Haney, Katie Heilman, Caitlyn McHugh, and Allison Nettles for STATE Qualifying times in the Girls Medley Relay and Girls 200 Free Relay!!!  Congratulations ladies!  GO BUCS!!!

Congratulations goes out to your AHS Swim and Dive Team for winning 3rd PLACE at the FIRST MEET of the season!!!  Travis Delker and Allison Nettles made county qualifying times in their evens (500 Free, 100 Breast for Travis & 200IM, 50 Free for Allison)!!!!  All swimmers improved their times from practice and many more are set to make county cuts in the next few meets!   Both our Men’s and Women’s 200 Free Relays were close to State Qualifying times as well!  I couldn’t be more proud of our swimmers and can’t wait to see what the rest of the season holds!!!  GO BUCS!!!
